Dish TV signal to garage

Will have to wait a few weeks. We're in northern Missouri. When trying to pull the existing line it wouldn't move an inch. I was scratching my head when my wife says "didn't you mention you thought the line died due to water? If so it's probably frozen." Well duh. Why did that not cross my mind?

Thanks for the morning laugh out loud moment! The episode has happened in this household more than a few times...

All the best,

Peter

I have fiber optic on the road by my house, but it is internet only, no TV. They want $8500 to run it to my house. I have Starlink internet which is faster and cheaper. Only option here for TV is Dish, Direct TV and streaming, no OTA or cable.
The current cable, was it double shielded?

When I ran mine, I placed it in electrical conduit. About 15 years and no water intrusion.

Finally at the road, Spectrum only charged $1,500 to run it 550 feet back to the home. Then they gave us an intro price that discounted the service for 3-years that equaled the $1,500. So the cost broke even overall for us.

Its ether you run a cable or you try to get yourself a other dish... from a abandoned house, or if you know someone that change provider or moving and buy a other receiver. You can run on the same account with multiple receiver.

Not sure what cable you are talking about when referring to "The current cable". If you are talking about the cable Dish installed, then yes it is double shielded.

The local fiber optic internet company wanted $8500 to run the 1400ft to my house, if I opted for their max tier service. Max of 100Mps download for $150/month, which has apparently been upgraded to max of 200Mps for the same $150/month. If I opted for their slowest service, max of 20 Mps for $75/month, then the install would have been $12800. Hence the reason for me going with Starlink for internet.

If you have Internet, then look into streaming.

We dropped Dish and went with Hulu Live. YouTube live is also out there.

DirecTv let's you use the streaming service on other devices at no charge.

So, with only a $25 Roku, I am able to have my service, and my DVR, in my shop.

Since it's wifi, I can plug in the TV anywhere out there, and use it.

I have to believe Dish has a similar option, if you have internet out there?

I have internet to the shop, Dish has a streaming service but it is cumbersome to use with no DVR service that I can find. I am actually converting the space above the shop into an apartment for my aging sister to live in. She can no longer live alone, her mental facilities are declining which is why having something simple to operate is important. I get a call from her once a week asking for help logging into her email account. I'll look into the Roku setup.
