I took a look at the attachments forum, but couldn't find and answer for this. I have a CT225 (27HP) and am looking at disks. There is a used one for sale near me that is a 6.5' with 16" disks. The price is right and I am wondering if this will work okay for me.

If your asking if your tractor will pull the disk in question, yes it will. Now if it will do what you want it to do, that depends on a lot of factors that we do not know about-yet. If the price is right, I would buy it and if you aren't happy with it you can always sell it.

Just what I would do. ;)

Hi Ken, this may be a dumb question but I have to ask anyway  - I noticed one end of it has scalloped blades and the other end is smooth blades. Why is that?

Thanks,
Bruce

Traditionally, the front cuts more agressive and the back begins the leveling/smoothing out process. Then a good well casing drag filled with concrete should be tied behind the disc to finish the leveling job. Ken Sweet

Thanks for the info Ken. The disc I bought seems to be a good deal. The area I need to disc up was turned over last fall but has since grown up with weeds. The disc seems to not want to dig wherever there is grass/weeds. I may need to do something else to the ground before the disc will engage very well. I tried it on bare soil and it worked fairly well. Will more weight on the disc help on the grassy area or is that a lost cause?

Add some weight, set the disc angles as agressive as possible and put a heavy drag behind if possible. Go over the ground and seal it off with the drag following. Wait for a rain and repeat the process. Ken Sweet
