Greetings All,

I've been wanting a backhoe for my Mahindra 1533 for some time now. From what I've read, I realize the best option is it factory sub frame mount backhoe. But while milling about at a local auction, I found myself the high bidder on a Woods BH 75 backhoe. (Pennies on the dollar)

Looking at my machine, there are fairly robust rails running from the tractor's mid section to the rear axle. I doubt adding a backhoe would break the machine in half, however it does seem like a fair amount of force to localized to the three point mounting plate. I read on this forum that Mahindra does not offer a sub frame sold separately from the backhoe . Perhaps a dealer might be willing to chime in?

It would be relatively easy to tie in the lower frame rails with the three point hitch mounting plate. I'm not entirely sure if that's enough. Would anybody happen to have photos for a 1533 or 1538 backhoe sub frame?

Thanks!

I'm looking forward to the replies. I have a 750 Woods (older version of what you just bought) and have perused this and other forums for years looking for the very thing which you ask for. While requests are easy to find and suggestions not uncommon; I have yet to see anyone post pics of a working model of a homemade subframe.

Here's my subframe mounted Bradco backhoe thread...

Thank you. As many times that I searched, both here and from Google; I never was able to come up with anything on my own. I don't know about the 7500, but my 750 is too old for Woods to have anything. When I bought my Kubota last fall I asked the salesman about a subframe; but he didn't seem to think that I could convert a 3pt to a subframe mount. Of course he did try to sell me a new backhoe. :D

....and there's the reason you don't want to count on sales people to answer any important questions, except, "how much"?

There are lots of posts on TBN about making custom subframes. I have done several myself, including:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ur-own-custom.html?highlight=backhoe+subframe

I think I have now done 6 or 7 different custom subframes for various tractors, and one subframe purchased from
Woods. I see several subframes in the Woods catalog for Mahindra tractors, but no 1533. They may have
added one by now.

Woods may have a subframe for your tractor, but they are not the best choice, as I point
out in the thread. Even their newest, most advanced 4-pt subframes are expensive and do
not couple the hoe as close as possible to the back of tractor.

After a long break in the action, I purchased a Mahindra subframe for the tractor side and found a Kabota type frame that bolts to the Woods hoe. Being as busy as I am with the tree work; I've decided to hire a fellow to make the two frames work. Would any of you guys mind sending along the dimensions off your 1538b backhoe. Specifically the clearance from the ground to the main pivot pin of the backhoe. And also the centerline of said pin to the 3 point hitch pivot pin(or pick an easy point to measure to)?

Thanks in advance!!!
