Thinking I want power steering on my Massey 35 Perkins diesel but I don't want to buy the kit. I can piece this together using a hydraulic cylinder and you can purchase a steering pump that fits right onto my engine. What I am not clear on is the orbital valve or whatever it is that tells the hydraulic cylinder to push or pull. My thought is to leave the mechanical linkage as it is and add a cylinder to give assist. Can anyone school me on how I turn steering wheel rotations into fluid flow to my hydraulic steering cylinder?
