Does this seem legit? A guy on the big E has come up with a way to add power beyond to a 790 with $60 worth of parts from the hardware store. For $5 bucks he will send you plans for it. Comments?

First, you need to remove that link to eBay or the moderators will delete this post...

Second, it's rip-off! You can look at the schematics yourself for free at jdparts.com-or I post if for you if you want! You CANNOT buy the fittings, quick-connects and three hose at ANY hardware store for $60.00 or any other amount of money.

If it sounds to good to be true...then it probably is:eek:

The price for the JD kit is not out-of-line considering what you get. All the brackets, hardware, QD's, metal tubes custom bent to fit your machine, and fittings that are designed for the 2000+ PSI of pressure your system can develop-not some made in China cast iron fittings from Home Cheapot!

Thanks Kenny, I thought it was too good to be true. Just wanted to ask here just to be certain. I would agree with you that the $320 bucks JD charges, it's a good deal knowing that everything will work right. Thanks...

I second Kenny's comments. The $320 Deere charges for the kit is worth it to get something designed for your tractor that uses quality parts.

Home Cheapot...I love it!

I might be wrong, but I though it was about $220. I got mine about 6 months ago.

IMO, I though that was high for what was in the box. I'd think if you didn't want it run all the way to the back with the fancy bracket, it wouldn't be that hard to do it yourself. If you just wanted to go directly from the banjo-bolts to a valve (which there is a 99.9% chance that's all I'll ever do with mine), It wouldn't take much.

I got the kit for $220, then had to buy QD's to match it, and have hoses made, and I'll probalby never need to remove them. If you really need it in the back so you can interchange attachments, it's worth it. It fits and it looks nice.

I gotta agree with everyone else. I put my own Deere Power Beyond kit on and there's nothing quite like having everything fit perfectly and look like it's been there since day one when you are finished. The few extra dollars were a bargain compared to what it would have cost me in time to cobble something (that may, or may not have worked and certainly wouldn't have looked as good).
