Got Spring Fever today and fired up the DK 35. Engine started like a champ after sitting all winter (TN). Much to my dismay found a lot of hydraulic fluid leaking right above the filter. It is leaking so badly that fluid is coming in thru the opening for the differential lock and puddling on the floor. Any hints/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd check the seal on the hydraulic filter. If the seal has cracked on the top, the oil could squirt toward the Diff lock hole.

Try cleaning off all the fluid you can from the suspected area, then start the tractor for about one minute to build hydro pressure. Shut off the tractor and carefully look to see where the leak is coming from.

You might also take a piece of cardboard and place it at different locations around the suspect area to see where the stream is coming from, and going to. Wear some heavy gloves and don't let any exposed skin get in the way of the stream.

Under full pressure, the hydro fluid could be injected into your skin, a dangerous proposition.

You don't say if this is a new filter, but perhaps it was cross threaded or the as has been said, the ring around the top has broken. It could also be that you have hit the filter and broken the mount.

If the tractor is under warranty, it is best to have your dealer take care of the problem.

Sounds to me like the gasket may have dried out while sitting all winter and cracked. If this is the case I am not sure it would be a "warranty" issue. It may be something else all-together and IS warranty, but I don't know why they would cover the filter gasket drying out.

I think you figured it out. I mentioned another problem it might be, and that would possibly be warranty related.

I doubt the gasket would be covered.

Found the leak to be related to the remote hydraulic control. When in neutral there is just a small drip. If leaver is moved either to the A or B position the fluid shoots out under a lot of pressure and volume. Something must have let go in the control valve box. Filter was changed and that was not the problem. Doudius Transpirus (S,,,,Happens) Thanks for all the input.

Great. That will proably be an easy fix. Most likely just a loose connector or an O ring that got tightened too far. I think that connection has an O ring, can't remember.
I lost the original of the instructions that I edited for Kioti on the remotes when my last computer crashed, so I can't recheck my facts.

Likely an O ring or fitting leaking.
Here is a parts/breakdown of the remotes for a DK 35
