I am real close to buying a Woods BH-80X with mechanical thumb backhoe for my 2008 DK35. The 80X is what the dealer recommended for this tractor. Does anyone know if this is a good fit? Should I consider the BH-90X? The Woods hoe seems to have very good reviews which is why I am leaning towards buying one. Does anyone think the Kioti hoes are better than the Woods? Would really like to get some expert opinions before I pull the trigger on 11k. Any information or opinions from someone that has been down this path before would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 80X on my Kioti 45 it has been great. Bought tractor front end loader ( Woods ) new in 2006. My only regret sometimes I wish I had bought the 90X

NC Redneck that's what I'm afraid of. If the 90X will be fine on my tractor I would rather buy it. I just don't know if the 90X is to big or have requirements like hydraulic pressure and volume that the DK35 cannot produce. After spending 11k I don't want to look back and wish I done something else.

I believe you will be happy with either model. Break out force is the main reason I want a larger hoe. The 90 should cut a 4 inch root where I can cut it at 3 inches with 80. Digging stumps would be the main difference. In regular digging dont think you would see much difference. And if you are like me probably have a lot of backhoe work to do when you first get it. After that maybe 3 or 4 times per year.
Hope this helps

11K WOW! I would get what I had on my DK-35/se/hst and now have on my DK-40/se/hst : the Kioti brand KB- 2485 hoe. It's a LOT cheaper and is an AWESOME hoe. I use it all the time and it's never let me down. I got a manual bolt on thumb, then a bolt on hydraulic thumb, and now have a welded on hydraulic thumb. I really like it and have a special ripper tooth I use in place of the bucket to dig out roots/rocks, etc.
Save yourself about $3K going with OEM.

might want to check out rhino. i think they r made in USA and make new holland OEM backhoes and bobcat tractors backhoe. in fact i know of a few tb8 bobcat backhoes that r going for bargain prices at the bobcat dealers. I'm trying to find a tb7 and all i keep finding is tb8 s and they r trying to move them.

I concur, $11k is mighty steep for a hoe. Look at the Kioti for a lot less $$

For $11K you could maybe get a used mini-ex. I don't know how they justify prices like that?! Reputation aside that's a whole lot of $$.:confused3:

And I guarantee you, the extra $3K or more, doesn't translate to that much better a hoe in use.

Here is the Kioti specs on the KB-2485:

Specifications

Digging Depth 94.4"
Reach (From center of Swing Pivot) 136.1"
Loading Height (Bucket at 60 degrees) 80.3"
Swing Arc 180°
Transport Height (Maximum) 92.9"
Transport Overhang 50.4"
Bucket Rotation 180°
Stabilizer Spread (Down Position) 68.7"
Stabilizer Spread (Up Position) 46.4"
Shipping Weight (Less Bucket) 1091 lbs
Bucket Digging Force 3,748 lbs
Dipperstick Digging Force 2,205 lbs
Operating Pressure 2,466 psi

Now the specs for the BX-80:

Sorry, can't get the Woods data to separate out to specific models from their PDF.
Seek out line by line comparison by printing out their spec page. and Kioti's and compare head to head features.
FWIW, I believe Kioti welds on their replaceable bucket teeth. I cannot find Woods machine weights anywhere?
Kioti's are listed less whatever bucket you choose. I have their 18" and it does a great job.
Hope this helps. I can steer you to where to get a mechanical or hydraulic thumb if you want one.

The hoe is $9300. The mechanical thumb adds $700. Then after Uncle Sam gets his it ends up around $10,700.
