My caution/ts flasher has been intermittent and now has failed ON. This is important for me now as I have been snow plowing near or on my road. Anyway I just wanted to let others know that a standard 2-prong auto flasher works fine in place of the Dae Dong 3-prong unit and it doesn't cost $30.00. Use a standard one because a HD flasher blinks a little fast (but can be used).
I cut the old unit apart to see what failed and was surprised to see an electronic circuit board, wondering why they did this when a bi-metal (old school) flasher works without issue, seems like misplaced technology....am I missing something? perhaps the electronic flasher automatically compensates for additional lights eg a trailer plugged into the rear port....Mike.
BTW a 3-prong (old school) flasher blows the fuse.
