Just a quick update on a past post from Nov. I took my DK40 back apart and checked everything I could think of or had equipment for. Release bearing forks are tight and no deflection when twisting between linkage arm and forks with a crescent wrench and channel locks. Flywheel runout is only .001. I still question the preassure plate I had sent out and had rebuilt since I had a similar dragging issue before and this is the only main component I reused. I think the culprit though is the clutch disc, it has .039 runout and that seems excessive. I tried putting a drill motor to the PTO drive shaft ( inside the main input shaft that is driven by the clutch ) and was able to shift the trans indicating that the issue does not appear to be dragging between the input shafts. It just acts like when a pilot bearing seizes, but this has no pilot bearing- that's where the PTO input is. If anyone has some other ideas before I put this back together let me know, other wise I have ordered a 6 puck heavy duty new disc and a new pressure plate. If this doesn't work I'm going to put it back together with Velcro next time.
