Don't forget the key switch. I had the same symptoms - sometimes I could get it to start and other times no-go. It drove me nuts checking everything. Finally, based on advise of several others on this site, I pulled the ignition switch, took it apart and cleaned it up. It was full of gunky stuff (360hours). After putting it back together - no problem. It's easy to do and mine only went together one way. Take care of shooting the little springs and ball bearings when/if
you disassemble.

Right mine also I just thought the bobcat diagram might show the interrupts and how they were wired. The only thing I see on the ROPS HST wiring diagram are the dash lights but interrupts do not show I will try to disassemble this Sunday and see if I can figure out what is going on. I will let you know what I find thanks for the help.

If all your dash lights are working. Try holding the key in the start position and slide the ranger selector between the 2 neutrals.
If it does not start like that, then I would jump the starter. If the machine fires from jumping the starter, you may want to look at a key switch. Or maybe the neutral switch.
There is only 2 safety switches that will not allow that machine to start.
The neutral safety on the range selector and the PTO.

If you do not know how to jump a starter than please do not attempt.

dont forget to check your battery connections . everything will show normal , untill the high amps of the starter try to kick in . just a thought .

Hey ERE it was the ignition switch I really thought it was one of the safety switches because the engine would turn over when it passed the speed lever thru neutral. I did the same as you did and cleaned it out (not sure that switch was made to be taken apart and fixed huh) any way thanks all for the help and advise.
