Island or anyone else who might not mind - could you you measure the width of your DK40SE tractor from tire to tire.

Trying to get an idea of whether one can get by with a 5ft bush hog (probably not) and a 5.5 ft snowblower (probably).

I'll measure accurately this weekend if the weather holds....however I am pretty sure it is over 60 inches and under 65 inches. Here are some photos from the rear with a 75 inch flail mower. The left side is flush with the mower. I'll let you do the trig/math.;)

I would buy a 6ft cutter if I were buying new but if I already had a 5ft brush mower I think it would be fine.

Is the 45 wider than the 40 frame wise or is the difference in the tires?

Tires. I'm pretty sure the only difference is the tire size and that the frames and engine blocks are identical. I think the onlly difference with the DK35se is that the 3cylinider engine block is shorter so the tractor is shorter and also the DK35se tires are smaller.

Ok, thanks. I was just curious based on your comment about buying a 6ft cutter. I bought a six ft. cutter and a 7ft. finisher. They both are great, however sometime I wish I had an extra foot on the finisher.:)

I was wrong. It measures 68 inches from outside of R4 tire tread lugs. It would not fit through a 68 inch gate as the tires bulge out another couple inches on each side but the foot print is 68 inches wide.
