New Holland TC55DA, delivered 05/25/2005
Anyone put together the differences between these two machines? Wondering what the advantages are to the newer model in a ROPS version. Should I be able to find a better discount on the "C" version?

"C" is for Cab. the previous model just did not have a letter after the model number, at least that was used in marketing.
AS I understand it the main difference is hood style, altough there are some other differences, I have not had one to look at yet...

The difference between the 65C and 65S besides the extra $1800.00 is as follows:
1) Newer engine with Tier 2 emissions/ and EEC stage 2 compliant. It also has increased torque output and lowered fuel comsumption.
2) Air cleaner diameter increased to 8"
3) Clutch diameter increased to 13" which increases the the duribility over the older model.
4) Air conditioner capacity increased.
5) Heater capacity increased.
6)New filter was installed to to help purify the air when operating the AC.
7) New one piece hood design.
8) Sise discharge exhaust widens operator's forward view from Cab.
9)Optional hydraulic oil cooler is now standard equipment.
10) New style tilting dash/ column ( tilts with steering wheel ).
11) New weight adjustable suspension seat with retractable seat belt and adjustable backrest.
12) Sun visor added for driver visibility on bright days.

I don't see how it could use less fuel. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I sometimes think it is running on air! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The DK65S will have ROPS and Cab models available just as the DK65 does. According to someone at Daedong, the S simply means special. As blknyght said, there are many differences between the new and old. I believe, and am checking, the new Perkins turbo diesel engine is tier III compliant. I'll let you know when I find out.
The original DK65 is still a great tractor and can be had for less than the new version, but I'm not sure that you could get a lot more off than the existing difference in price.
Just ask RedDog, it's a real piece of work. John

Received an answer from Daedong S. Korea regarding the Perkins engine. It is tier II, tier III not due until 2008. The better fuel economy comes from better recirculatioin of the unburned gasses and better injection pumps. Tier 2 requirements started 2004 for over 20HP, 2005 for under 20.
As an interesting note, all of the Daedong engines already complied with tier II certification, and some already comply with tier 3, but they won't be certified until required. Daedong's tier 2 engine has new head, new head cover which has PCV valve( and new injection pump for Turbo only).
PCV valve is to route the blow by gas back to intake hose to reduce the emissions.
There are 10 bolts for the head cover mounting as opposed to the old style which had only two studs mounting of the head cover.
Just FYI guys.
