Do you find petrified wood?

Transportation is large part of landscaping materials. I wanted to buy an 18 wheeler load of crushed lava rock but shipping was a killer.

Absolutely! The materials are cheap by comparison to transportation. It's not just the fuel and truck wear & tear, the fees and taxes also add up. I don't know any independent rock hauler making big money. The closer you are to the quarry, the better.:thumbsup:

Thanks for all the photos of petrified wood. I found a piece the size of mey hand digging in the banks of Snow's Cut at Carolina Beach, NC. Was looking for sharks teeth, found lots of ancient clam and oyster shells.

The exposed bed rock there is 10 million years old, kinda boggles the mind.

Nope. Never. Heck, at my age I'd be tickled pink to find morning wood!
