Since I now have 3 attachments that use the Aux PTO hoses (mini-hoe, grapple bucket, snow blade) I've started looking for covers for the hydraulic hoses when not in use. Parker's online catalog shows both metal and rubber (like those used on the main PTO hoses), but I haven't found a source for ordering them...

Does anyone know of a source, so I could do at least a price check?

I know I could get them from PT, but Rich said that PT now has a minimum $50 parts order, and hopefully we're not talking about $50 for 4 sets (implements, plus tractor)....

Try doing a search on TBN. I think there was a thread about using chair leg caps, or something like, that were readily available at hardware stores.

You could also try the local hydraulics shop, Tractor Supply, Northern Tool & Supply, Harbor Freight, baileynet.com, or just about any tractor dealer.

I use green rubber dust caps and plugs that I got from TSC. The color is a pretty close match to PT green. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Walmart has 1-1/8" chair leg caps that come in 4-packs for about $2. These work pretty well although I've found that mine get a little loose after taking off/on many times and need to be replaced.

Hose clamps work well to snug up loose fitting dust caps.

Did you drill a little hole in the bottom of the chair tip to let the air escape when you put it on. If you didn't maybe its trapped air that pushes the tip off.

The closest TSC is about 50 miles away -- only been there once. It looks like I need to plan another trip...

Here's a tip... don't put them on when the metal connector is still hot or they may "shrink wrap" around the connector and have to be cut off. Don't ask how I know! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Moss, is that specific to the TSC caps? Inquiring minds want to know.

It happened to the factory female cap on mine. I put it on after mowing and couldn't get it off the next time I wanted to put the mower on. Busted a knuckle trying to pull it off. Had to knick it with a knife to loosen it up enough. Now I wait until it cools down. If I can touch it without burning my hands, it is cool enough to put the plastic dust cover on. I think the problem is I almost always wear heavy gloves when operating the thing and never knew just how hot those connectors get while mowing. I tried to disconnect them bare handed one time. Once was enough! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
