My wife thinks I'm strange in that I keep a mental log of when my vehicles roll over the odometer. Anyone else do that? I know when my truck rolled over 100,000 miles and my little Honda will roll over 200,000 before years end.

My wife thought I was really strange when in the middle of mowing yesterday I stopped, got off the tractor, and proceeded to shoot this picture. I bought this tractor used and so not all of the hours are mine but I thought it was cool watching it roll over.

Am I really that wierd?

Have a wonderful day, now I am off to mow some more.

My wife used to think I was weird when I commented on repeating sequences and palindromes on the odometer.

Now she still thinks I'm weird, but she does it too. She even sends me pictures on the cell phone when it happens and I'm not around!

it akin to looking for dates that repeat like next month will be 07-07-07. I was also thinking we liken 7 dog years to one human year. Can you equate an hour on a tractor to miles on an auto . So I have 250 hours on my 2210. Is that equivalent 75,000 miles ?

I don't know, but I have had a lot more fun with my hours on the tractor than the miles driving.

Mornin Coach,
Not weird at all ! ;) Im kind of curious on your hour meter though, I kind of took it for granted that most were 4 digit and not three ! So I learned something this morning ! :)

Actually it's a T-100. Got it new in Sept. 1993 - - it's at 310k right now, but it rolled over January 2005. The miles come a lot slower now that I'm not driving to New Orleans everyday. Ain't retirement great?

I don't do any of that weird stuff, like making pictures of the odometer. Of course, I do have spread sheets for each of our vehicles, that show every penny that's gone into them since we bought them, including columns for date/odometer reading/cost of each tank of gas/price per gallon/number of gallons/miles per gallon on that tank/cumulative miles per gallon since we bought the vehicle, total miles driven, cost per mile, etc., etc. but nothing weird.

Yeah, I bet she had to point a gun at your head.....:)

Mine is wanting to go to Vegas. That may actually require a firearm to get me to go. Something about a place that caters to taking your money......

Mowing is going full tilt. I had no idea it was going to take off like it has. Fortunately the youngin's like to work long hours. I ended up with a broken finger and hand while changing a tire about a week ago. (Missed the target with a tire hammer. Found the tire with my left hand :( ) Been on the bench for the most part. Pain is going away. May try to get back in the game this weekend.

Bill
