Does anyone ever find missing parts off their tractor?

I have a young horse that is very curious whenever I disassemble anything in the paddock she stands behind me watches everything that comes off and sniffs every part/bolt that I put down. Last week after stripping down part of my truck and reassembling a couple of bolts are missing I guess she swallowed them after sniffing them

I cannot tell you how many pins, bolts, nuts, pieces, etc I cannot find in my field. Maybe I need to get a metal detector. I've had some rather large pieces of metal "disappear" in my field. I've had three people look in the area where the piece fell off - self disassembled. The worst one was the pin on my telescoping arms fell out (how does that happen) and I lost a big piece of that. Of course the dealer ordered me in a new piece, but where did it go? Tractor fairy? Gremlins? CIA?

My first time riding out to Sturgus (1988), the left forward footrest fell off in the dark. At 3:00 in the morning on a Sunday in a state with blue-chip laws, I stopped and looked and looked. Never found the missing control. But I did find a threaded 9/16" rod. A few miles down the road at a truck stop the attendant let me use there shop and I cut the threaded rod to size and used a locknut to hold it in place. Nearly twenty-five years later and that threaded rod is still there.

Last spring we were cleaning out the hay scraps from the bottom of the round bale feeder and found a walkie talkie(somewhat the worse for wear). I think one of the Island Hunt horse folks lost it the previous year. Finding lost things isn't the same as finding lost things with a mower, baler or rototiller.
