JD 1050
Does anyon here have a JD1050 4x4 with ag or R4 tires. If so what size are they (frount and rear).

I would like to swap my turf tires for something with a little more bite but I'm not sure what size I should be looking for. I would be looking on the used market for both tires and wheels.

Also would anyone know of a good source for used tires, maybe a dealer that keeps a used tire and wheel inventory in the NE ohio area.

Re: doe anyone have a JD1050

A 1050 with 4x4 would have had 7-16 front and 13.6 x 28 rears, you're gonna need tires and rims to keep the ratios correct to prevent front axle damage

I suspect you will have a hard time finding used wheels. I have a 950 with same 7-16 front. My front wheels have rusted out somewhat around the valve stem. I think it set out in the weather in a previous life. I have looked quite a bit trying to find used wheels with no success. I tried searching n google for tractor salvage yards. Found many, called/e-mailed several. No luck. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif If you find 2 sets, let me know. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Would Ag tires and R4's use the same wheel?

I want to say that they are the 13.6x28 as is yours. But my tractor is about 30 miles away and I can't verify that right away. I do have ags on mine. I don't know the actual wheel sizes.

I have a JD 4100 and I had the dealer switch out the ags to r4s, they used the same wheels.

This is NE Indiana but I know Zurcher Tire in Monroe, IN has rims for what you (or anyone) would need. They'll even paint them Deere yellow for you.

Good luck with your 1050. I think it's one of JD's best ever. I hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They're the same... A 1050 is a turbo'd 950.

I know they are similar. But different web sites list the 950 at about 2700# and the 1050 at about 3600#, so I think that is more than just the addition of a turbo. I think it is built heavier overall to compensate for the additional hp.

As I recall from my days of shopping for a '50' series Deere, the 950 frame is the same as the 850 and, I believe, the 750 frames while the 1050 is built on a larger frame (like the 1250).

I double checked my materials and I was incorrect. The engine on the 950 and the 1050 is the same with the 1050 having the turbo. The wheelbase is the same but the 1050 is wider. The 1250 is longer so it's out.

OK It looks like I will be looking for 700-16 front and 13.6 x 28 rears. Its good to know that the 950's use the same size.
I will be watching for dealer tractors to see if I can work out a trade and also auctions.
Thanks for your help.
