Does anyone have a Load Handler pickup bed dumper?

My neighbor sold his dump trailer. Bummer it wasn't to me. Been looking for a solution and I have been seeing some good reviews on the heavy duty load handler tarp unloader. Anyone have any thoughts before I spend $150?

Yup, got the heavy duty one. Only used it a few times. Hauled sand. As I recall, I really loaded it, about 2k pounds, but it sure worked nice. I was off loading to a ditch, so was really convenient to crank right into the ditch. I have a camper top on the truck now (for my dogs), but kept the loader for future use.

I also have the heavy duty version. Very happy with its performance. Hauled everything from sand to top soil, compost, manure, mulch etc. So much better than shoveling it back out.

Another vote for the heavy duty model. If you have a bedliner put down a sheet of cardboard. Some bedliner materials stick to the load handler and make it quite a bit harder to unload, the cardboard prevents that. I have used it with sand, decomposed granite, railroad ballast, and mulch. It works great, just unload into the bucket of your tractor and deliver it to where its needed.

Love the idea to use the cardboard beneath the load handler. I do not have one, but I have helped people with them and seen the problem with things sticking to the bedliner. I'm also considering buying one. Does anyone have any problems with them marking the tailgate on the outside?

Yea, a bit. I should have wiped it done first I guess or maybe put a cloth or something. Not too bad though.

Wasn't impressed even though mine was the heavy duty. Too much product fell off the sides and it was kind of a pain. It sure doesn't work like the infomercials!

Of course it is not perfect, but it sure beats shoveling things out one shovel at a time. Other than a dump trailer is there another, better option?

I have a load handler and I use it mostly for unloading firewood. It's not perfect, but it's WAY better and more fun. Material will fall off the sides, but you just have to adjust. The way I see it, it's much easier to unload 2/3 of your load and save your back, then clean up what it missed. Easy, quick.

Seems to me I read about someone powering the crank somehow, but can't figure out where.

While I haven't used mine for a while due to putting on a camper top, today I bought a trailer and plan to use the LH with it. Poorman's dump
This is a military trailer with recessed tie downs so I'm placing tempered Masonite under the LH. Also intend to block off the wheel wells. Will still have a capacity of 3000 pounds.

Thoughts anyone?
