Looking at possibly moving up to a Mahindra 2655 or a TYM T554 and towing a 12ft batwing cutter. The HP seems ok, weight might be ok depending on which brand cutter, but cannot find any specs on the drawbar capacity from Mahindra or the TYM it is built on. The 12ft cutters vary from 750 to 1,000 tongue weight.
I have used the search and found some references to calculating based on tractor weight. I would like to find it in writing somewhere rather than risk it on a new tractor/cutter. From my experience with another brand, the capacity can vary greatly, a 66 hp machine only supporting 882 lb static weight for example while a 55 hp of same brand (bigger frame) is 2700+. Of course that brand also uses aluminum axle housings in some of their machines so there is that.
Thanks!
