Does anyone like Krylon paint?

Wow had the opposite experience with rustoleam wanting to run and way to long to dry, plus put some cans on the shelf and used them a few months later plugged the tip and had to throw them out half full.
I did have good luck with the charcoal metallic Rustoleaum but the black with primer paint much prefer Krylon.

Actually liked the krylon Black with primer so much used it on AMX wheels at 55 degrees and then clear coated them with Dupont Nason Urethane spot/panel clear 30 minutes later

No problems and the wheels look Good

Hope they haven't screwed it up by (improving) the formula

My experiences also between brands using the outdoor paints. Krylon is my go-to brand.

A thing I found about rattle cans is remove the tip and put it on a can of cheap carb cleaner from O'Rilleys Auto Parts give a quick squirt, it cleans the tips and you are good to go next time you need to spray... I always keep the used tips (cleaned) from empty cans in case I actually do get one that plugs up.... The problem with plugged tips in not with the tip but the user not cleaning them after use...

I rarely have a problem with the old style tips because I clean them after use. The new style from Rustoleum are the problem. The cans spray paint from all angles, even upside down, so you can't clear the tips that way. The tips are designed different so you can't put them on normal paint or solvent can.

It's not even acetone, that would evaporate fast, and dry quickly. It's much lower grade, solvent.

All brands of spray can enamels, are the lowest grade of paint, and solvents.

Krylon is actually one of the better brands right now, if you buy the 2x product.

Krylon's 2x satin black, is by far the best one out there right now.

The government gets much of the blame, for enacting VOC regulations, that require them to take out everything that makes paint good.

How well the paint works also has a lot to do with the color. Anything in the red family, (red, orange, and yellows), tend to be most transparent. Those pigments are the most expensive to make, so they will give you less color, and more solvent. Using a similar color primer, and priming the entire object, will help with not having things show through the color coats.

The long ago mandated removal of lead, continues to cause significant issues with getting solvent based paints to cover. Automotive paint has largely switched to water based colors, to get around that, and help with the VOC issues.

Some companies are experimenting with spray can water based aerosol spray enamels. They cover fast, but dry slowly, and have lower levels of gloss.

I am aware of the all angles but have not encountered a problem with any "new style" tips yet... Just got a few new cans a few days ago...
