My rubber plugs on the bearing caps are constantly cracking and causing grease to leak out on my wheels and tires. The last set I put on was about 6 months ago. I replaced all 5 wheels and tires and added canvas covers at the same time. I pulled the covers today and found all the plugs cracked and they have never seen the light of day. I get 5 years or so out of mine or more. Could it be the grease you are using?

mine are all cracked and sling grease all over the wheels, but I think they lasted about 5 years before it started?

Using the Ford/Merc spec molly grease. Only WB grease I've used for 40 years and never had a bearing fail.

I don't think a bearing buddy would fit over the EZ LUBE fitting.

I like the EZ LUBE design because it pushes grease through both bearings from the center.

I may try to make a mold and cast some from silicone or something.
