Does mid 90's L-series have seat safety switch?

I've had a couple of non-starts with my L4200GST that I attribute to the shuttle-shift neutral switch. I jiggle the shuttle shift and it starts right up. Now I'm wondering if I'm supposed to have a seat switch too. I do know I can put the tractor into gear and it will drive away without anyone in the seat, and I've started it many times standing beside it.

Hello Jay.
My L4200GST is a 1998... it only has Shuttle and PTO safety switches. No seat switch. KennyV.

My 1998 L2900 GST does not have a seat safety switch.

My 2000 L3410 does not have a seat pester me switch. ( I hate them!)

I belive they started the seat saftey switches in 2003 or 2004.

Thanks guys! I didn't think there was a switch there, but I throught I'd check. Actually, with the way the thing jiggles around all the time, it's enough of a miracle that my seat doesn't just fall completely off - I'm still not sure what is holding it on. I REALLY need a new seat.

I think my shuttle neutral safety switch is sticking a bit - hey Kenny, do you know if that switch up by the column or down at the tranny?

Jay the shuttle switch is on top, under the small plastic cover. The part that ‘usually’ will cause you problems there is the spring that holds the shuttle shift lever in position. If the handle gets loose and not held in the right place, you can bend unknowingly bend the metal tab on the switch… that will cause you starting problems until you replace the spring and reshape the thin metal tab on the switch.
