Dolly for implements

Hey TEchman,
I took your advise and built a platform on wheels to move my BX implements around. Once I get the hang of using the hook and chains for picking things up I will really be in business /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Steve, I too made wheeled platforms for some of my implements, but I added metal brackets or blocks of wood to hold the implement level. This makes it easier to hook them up to the 3pt. Now life is getting better. Kevin

I welded wheels on the bottom of my Ballast Box as well as on the bottom of my sprayer (see pictures in the PHOTOS section of TBN). No need for a separate dolly for those.

For things like blades, a dolly would come in very handy, I haven't gotten around to that yet!

I've also built a low shelf against the back wall of my garage. I can slip a low implement under the shelf and park another implement on top of the shelf (your 3pt has to have enough lift to do this).

I've made several by starting with recycled bed frames. I weld corners so they don't fold, add some reinforcement across the corners and weld 4 swivel casters from Harbor Freight on them. I also added some custom wood and or metal pieces on top to set implements down and keep them in place. One person can take things on and out the 3 point and move anything anywhere with these.

Most of my implements are on dollies made of wood and casters. The dollies are all the right height to roll right up to the 3ph. Having them in the garage on smooth concrete is so easy. When I want to attach or disattach, the cars go out & there's plenty of manuvering room. I did simply bolt casters to the bottom of my carry all. My PHD is bolted to the wall with a chain hoist above it for easy transfer to the tractor. I have an electric hoist suspended from a truss to use in lifting the MMM to remove & sharpen blades, etc.

where is the tooth bar for the FEL. You know not to go out with out your teeth right?

Dan..... it is strange that you should say that about the tooth bar. I purchased one when I purchased my machine and used it all last summer. Then I took it off for the winter and didn't put it back on till today. The only reason that I put it back on was a member sent me a PM asking a question about it. Decided to send him a picture to go with the answer. For what I have been doing this year, I have had no use for it. I do like the fact that it is off & on in minutes.

How right you are. I consider my tooth bar an implement, just like any other. Mine is off right now also, got some slicing to do on some higher ground and dont want tooth marks.

Point with photo in question is there are NO holes for one either.........and I dont think they stay on to well with c clamps.

I paid about $20 for a furniture dolly at Harbor Freight. It is rated 1000 lb capacity and worked very well for wheeling my 550 lb. box scraper in and out of a shipping container (with some help from 2 come-alongs to lift it).
