Those of you that use dollies for your MMM, boxblade, tiller, etc. What's your opinion of these for the price. I need some for boxblade and tiller. Says 1000lb capacity which should cover the weight of the equipment but what about the 2" wheels?

Those wheels can 'fold' under themselves fairly easily, I have two sets (for my snowmobiles, actually). I have a home-made dolly for my backhoe, but I have a few of the mover dollys, they're cheap and pretty durable, so far. They handle my box blade, tiller and rear blade real well. After checking the shipping on some dollies - I found it cheaper to just go to Lowes or Home Depot buy castors and make something simple out of 2x or 1x and plywood or whatever is hanging around or just buy some lumber there as well. Screws, a skillsaw and a drill/driver. You can make them whatever size you want and whatever size wheels you want to spring for.

John...I made mine with 2x6's and had some casters so the cost was about $15.00 but the casters save me....Tractor Supply has casters but they are pricey...Just last week I saw Harbor Freight had a coupon out for some nice looking dollies and they were around $10.00 each...check their site.

So far I have made dollies for my Woods BH90-X backhoe w/ hydraulic thumb,
Wallenstein BX42 3-pt pto chipper and my hydraulic 3-pt wood splitter. Not just for the ease of attachment/detachment but more so for "sardine storage" in my shop-just roll them where I want them.

All of my implements are on homemade dollies, each custom designed for that specific implement. Due to clearance, I had to use 2" casters on the MMM dolly. The thing is, with a lot of weight, you have to use more of the small casters. The smaller casters have more frictional resistance than the bigger ones, and when you add the resistance of numerous axles together, it becomes more difficult to push the thing around. Also, steel casters tend to have a lot less resistance than the rubber or harder phenol wheels do. The bigger and fewer the wheels, and steel over rubber/phenol, makes the mass much easier to push around.

My backhoe on 5" steel wheels is immensely easier to push than my MMM on 2" wheels, and the bh weighs 3X as much.

I built a small sled dolly for my barbell weights that I use as implement ballast. In order to roll this sled beneath the box blade (which is on 6" casters), I put 1 5/8" casters on the sled dolly. It rolls not much better than if I were just to slide it on the ground.

Not to pick on anyone for their spelling, but I got a good laugh at the spelling c-a-s-t o-r. Made me think of being a kid and being forced to swallow that nasty castor oil. Even sounds like something you do to male piglets.

I have built dollies for almost all the equipment, mostly from discarded angle iron bed frames and HF casters which I buy ahead when they are on sale. Neighbor shakes his head, but I know deep down he'd like some too.

I have (hopefully) attached photos of my carts for my tiller and my chipper. I welded 3" swivel casters to 1/8" plate. Casters are from Home Depot. I will be making another soon for my woods backhoe. Prior to making these carts, I was using small wooden furniture moving dollies. They worked good, but were not quite right.

Yeah, looks like that was me. Just a typo but glad you got a laugh anyway. I might try some of them thar (haha) steel wheels since my 600 lb ballast box is hard to push around on the 2 1/2 inch rubber castrols. Thanks for the tip.
