All,

Just wondering what the norm is for domestic service manuals. I should've done more research before buying but prices seems fairly even across the board, I figured I was buying the same product. Well what I got for my $65 + $15 shipping was not what I expected. It was a poorly photocopied version of the manual bound with a plastic binding with the company's name who I bought it from on the cover. I was shocked to spend $65 on this. Most pages have a line through it (copier issue) and most of the pictures are not very useful because of the copy.

Anyone have any advice, should I complain, suck it up. Is this the norm?Since this is just copied, does anyone know if they're available scanned into PDF? I have a 186D.

Let me know what pages you need. I have the original service manual, operation manual, and even the factory assembly instructions for this tractor. The time it would take to scan the it is more than I want to take. As well as the original sales flyer. Not shure how much is copy righted otherwise I would take the time and scan and sell copy's on the net.

My 186D Service Manual came with the (used) tractor. It isn't a shabby photocopy like that, it's a nice clean printed and bound manual.

I wouldn't accept a photocopy when the genuine original is still available new from Yanmar-USA.

Pete, thanks for the offer, but I'm really just trying to determine if I should send the whole manual back and buy one somewhere else.

California, thanks for that input, I guess I'm almost surprised to learn Yanmar USA still prints these, makes me wonder if what I got is even legal! Definitely leaning towards sending it back now.

Send it back and buy an authentic Yanmar manual.

I have the OEM service manual, new for a good bit less than $65.

I think all of the 186 service manuals are technically going to be copies unless you find one of the old, original, hard cover, 3 ring binded manuals. From my understanding, Yanmar sold out of the hard cover originals and did the copies themselves. Some models are a lot better than others. The 186 is actually pretty good though. The pictures from the 186 manual should look like the picture attached.

We do have them in PDF.

I have an almost complete set of Original Yanmar parts, owners, and 3 ring binder repair manuals on all the US models.
Its been sitting on my shelf for 10+ years, I would like to pass it on as a whole set, any buyers?

Please PM me if interested.

I bought my 186d service and parts manuals from Hoye. They're good clean copies....a bit expensive but good quality. I'd send yours back and check out Hoye......good people to deal with. Good luck.......
