I am happy to report my tractor has been returned and was fixed to my satisfaction with a new housing. The total cost was $3972.xx. It took 112 hours of labor in the shop to fix it. The dealer delivered the tractor right after it was repaired before I had paid anything. This week they got the check from the insurance written to both of us. I went in to the dealer today and signed the check and paid my 500.00 deductible. It has been so nice having my baby back.
My tractor was also able to redeem itself after getting drug off the hill by a little Kubota the day it broke. The first day I had it back my neighbor got his Kubota stuck in the mud and I was able to pull it out.
Overall I am very happy with the John Deere insurance and the process.

I'd bet that is NOT 112 hours - more like 11.2.

That seems like allot of labor. If it truly was that much, your dealer won't be in business much longer at a 35 dollar an hour shop rate...even less because I'm sure that was a pretty pricey part too.
I bet it is a nice feeling to have it all behind you now, and I'm sure you are glad you didn't try to cobble a field fix.

I found my drawbar loose just like yours (kubota). Somehow the pin had fell out. I took the drawbar off and haven't put it back.

I liked the 3032e but one of the deciding factors was the aluminum housing on the rear. You can't put a backhoe back there and I was planning on getting a back-hoe (still planning).

Good catch. OP, can you confirm? 112 hrs is an awfully long time for a skilled technician, even for that job. At a nominal $80/hr (low for around here), that would be $8,960. On the other hand, if it truly was that big a job and took 112 hrs., I calculate an hourly rate of $8. That's worth trucking my tractors down to King George, VA in the future if I can persuade their shop to work on orange.

Geez, just now clicking on this thread, what a mess! Glad the OP got it fixed for $500 out of his pocket though, all things considered that was pretty cheap.

So, I guess I should take the drawbar hitch off of my 790. To be quite honest, I seldom ever use it.

I took my draw bar off today. I can put it on very easy when needed. Better to be safe than sorry.
