Nice afternoon so went out to check the gates on some fences out in the back "40" and ran into a small obstacle!!!!! to say the least!

Sinkholes are very evil things... They strike where you least expect. This photo was somewhere in the midwest. That's a Versatile 750.

Hello, Thomas;
This was MUD!!!! After breaking through the completely dry surface (about 4"-6" thick) the ground had the consistency of fresh concrete!!! Here we call them 'bogholes'!! They have been in this particular part of the pasture for many years. There has been livestock lost in them from time to time. And they do have a tendency to move around a bit. So I guess that I haven't done too bad. This was my first one in 56 years!
And, yup, had to get the pressure washer out before it dried,
'cause once this stuff dries, it has about the consistency of cured concrete--marvelous stuff!!!!!

Down here (AR) we call this stuff buckshot... looks dry- instant stuck...

The stuff IS dry as a bone on top, here;but as you can see!!!
The picture that you posted was here in ND, too!!! about a hundred miles from here. The man came out in the spring to get his tractor out of the shed, and looky, looky at what he found!!!!!Bet ya coulda knocked him down with a feather!!
