Down pressure kit broke arch on PHD, repair photos

Thought I would share a recent experience I had with my Woods PHD w/ down pressure kit. Apparently 200+ holes worth of abuse cause the arch to break in rather spectacular fashion, luckily a buddy of mine knows how to weld and has the requisite equipment. We beefed up the broken area with some angle and bar stock, should prevent a repeat. Afterward I cleaned it up with a wire brush and painted it John Deere yellow, just cause it was the closest thing to orange they had in the rustoleum "farm equipment" variety at Lowes and I could really care less what color it is lol :laughing:

Looks like the weld didnt penetrate on the gearbox end of the weld (as seen by the rust where the weld was). Should hold up better now.
