Mahindra 2615 4wd
I got my Mahindra 2615 in march and am very happy with it! But I have tried e-mailing the company a couple times about getting a draft control added on to it. But have had no response back. Can any one tell me if the draft control has to be fractory installed or can it be done at my dealer? And at what cost if dealer installed? Hey and I just wanted to thank you guy's on this sight. I done a lot of reseach before buying my tractor. And this site was a big help!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Most or should I say several compact tractors have a kit available to put draft on in the field. Are you planning on doing a lot of plowing?

Not a lot of plowing, but my driveway is 400 yards long and keeping the rock in the driveway when they have been pushed to the side has always been a problem. But when I tried to use the blade to do this, I had a problem keeping the rock level. I had always before used a friends tractor and blade and it always worked great. He told me the draft control was the drifference.

You should talk to your dealer. I asked my dealer about it and he said it was available but couldn't get a price at the time. I didn't really need it that badly so I just let it go.

Emailing Mahindra isn't very successful. You have to hound your dealer to get results.

I hope you have a good dealer.

I fail to see how draft would help in anyway for doing your driveway. Draft keeps a ground-engaging implement (plow) from digging in to deep and stopping the tractor. It automatically raises the lift to increase traction and prevent the implement from digging in deeper. The difference between doing it with your tractor and your friends has to be the way the tractor is set up and / or the setup or design of the blade.

If you set the draft control very light it would lift some to prevent the blade from accumutating too much gravel.

Are you using a regular blade for this? I'm not sure how well draft control will do this as it wont leave a smooth surface when it raises or lowers. It is more of a safetey feature than a grooming feature.

If you are using a regular blade I would recommend switching to a box blade. Will capture material and provide a much more level surface.

You would also want to shorten your top link in order to prevent to much of the gravel from being collected. Try different positions with the top link and you will find out how they affect the way the box blade will smooth out materials versus collecting materials.

beaglesnc, save your money on the draft control and buy a grademaster or duragrader to grade your road. I currently grade my roads with a back blade and I have draft control. It works very well, but I have to make several passes to get it the way that I like it. I have about 2 miles of roads to maintain and I am currently checking on a grademaster. If the price does't come in low enough, then I will check out the Duragrader brand. SonnieP just ordered one and it sounds like it might be the one to get. I am still curious if these graders work as well as shown with just 1 pass.
Good luck with your choices. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Brian
