Hi there, I am a new tractor user and have a 4530 which I think is awsome. But I need help, could someone please tell me what position my draft controll should be in when I am using my slasher( 5 ft grass cutter).Im not sure what they are called in the US.
I dont fully understand the draft controll lever even though I have read the manual. if some one could explain it to me I would be thankfull. Thanks in advance, Alex.

It's my understanding that you shouldn't use Draft control to lift. You should use position control. So I think you want both levers forward when you are sitting down. Draft control is used for implements like plows or other implements that engage the ground and it's purpose is for ensuring consistant depth. The 6500 manual says that if you use the draft control to raise an implement like yours is doing now in the picture it can overheat and damage the unit. Hope that helps?

Also, use the black knob to lift, not the dc.

Unless you are pulling a plow leave the draft control lever in the down position. If you do some plowing the operation of the draft control is in your owners manual. Good luck .

Thank you both for your help, just to double check when you say down I presume this is in the direction marked "Deeper".
thanks again, Alex.

deeper is correct. It should be forward all the way.

By-the-way Alex, when you move the draft control down to use position control for your slasher - don't forget to loosen the black wing-nut so that the draft control lever AND it's small range quadrant BOTH can go all the way down. Then re-tighten the wing-nut. If Draft control isn't all the way down it can prevent the 3pt lower arms from dropping all the way down when you want them to.
