Hi,
New (2009) happy Montana owner here. Unfortunately, when I thought I was doing the right thing by topping off the front axle and rear reservoir with fluids, I mixed HyTrans fluid in the rear with gear oil. My bad. The (poorly written manual) calls for only a Universal HyTrans fluid in the reservoir. I had added a quart or two of gear oil to the reservoir of HyTran fluid.
I think I need to drain off the Transmission/Hydraulic reservoir of this mix and replace with fresh HyTran fluid and a new Hyd filter.
Anyone here have any advice for me? Is this the correct course of action to drain and replace?
Also, how many Hydraulic Drain plugs are there on the R3644? Where are they located? I thought I found one large drain plug on the lowest point, underside reservoir, but couldn't get it to budge and then see online that there could be as many as 4 or 5 Hydraulic Drain plugs?? Can any Montana R3644 owners shed some light to this?? Thanks!
