Here's what I have:
I have two downspouts that run into an underground 4" drain pipe. This runs 50' to pick up both downspouts. From the last one it runs 10' and outside a fenced in area, which is where I wanted the drain to spill its water.
There is a slight fall to the drain pipe and due to the landscape, when it gets outside my fenced in area it is still underground. I have the same setup on the other side of the building, but that side has a drop off outside the fenced area and the end of the drain is exposed/unblocked.

What I did at the time, four years ago, was dig a 9" hole with my PHD and fill it with gravel. The end of the drain spills into this. No problem for a couple years, but now the ground inside the fenced area is becoming quite saturated with standing water during heavy rain, so I'm guessing I need to free up the end of the drain, but I don't know how.

I don't know if I should elbow it up, get it to slightly above ground level and put some birdscreen on the end of it, or maybe dig a much larger gravel pit for the water to distribute in better.....
I've even thought of running it into the other drain and taking them both into my creek, but it would need to run uphill to get to the other drain, still, it would be lower than where it starts....

I am not worried about the ground where I end the drain getting saturated.
All ideas are most appreciated.

Thanks

Is there any way to "daylight" the drain pipe? A little bit of slope is needed carry the water away. An elbow up to get above elevation will still leave water in the drain pipe. If you add more gravel the problem, in theory, will catch up to you again.

If you extend the drain pipe to day light or creek, add a screen to keep critters out of there.

I don't know what you mean by "daylight" the drain pipe.... do you mean expose the whole thing? There isn't a way to daylight just the end without running it up hill or attaching an elbow like I mentioned.

Anyway, since no one has run into this before, or at least come up with an effective solution, I've thought about it some more
I'm going to tie both of them together and run perforated where the one pipe will be level or run slightly uphill before it ties into the other. I'm hoping this will allow any water that remains in the pipe to find its way out so I don't create a trap of sorts.

Thanks for your reply though, LLC :)

Daylight: the end of the pipe is exposed to open air. Usually run the pipe at a slope of 1" to 2" per foot of run until the end is open. The pipe is buried until the end the line.
