I'm looking for a catagory 1 drawbar with 1 inch holes in it. Does such a thing exist? Does anyone know where I could get one?

I've got a homemade trailer that my father once built to haul his tractors with, and my wife doesn't seem to thing I should have it parked in front of the house-- she was mumbling something about the safety yellow paint job not matching the new house, and she wanted it parked where no one can see it. Anyhoo, the trailer goes onto a 2 5/16" ball, and I can only find balls that size with a 1 inch shank, so I can't easily tow the trailer through the backyard with the tractor unless I either find a ball that size with a 3/4" shank, or a drawbar with 1 inch holes.

Andy,

The standard cat. 1 drawbar has 3/4 inch holes. What you can do is mount a reciever hitch to the drawbar. You can buy one from Northern Tool for $10 and have someone weld a plate to it with a pair of 3/4" holes. But you would want to buy the drawbar locking clips to keep it from rolling on you.

Andy... do you know anyone with a pickup truck? You could bribe them with a cold Sam Adams to move it for you. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What size hole is in the fixed drawbar ?
On my last tractor I had to drill out the fixed drawbar to 1" for the exact same ball size.
U could also make a triangle plate w/ 2 3/4" holes to bolt to drawbar and a 1" hole for your ball.
U will have to have the 'anti roll' brackets on the cat. 1 drawbar.
Do your old Fords have the front bumper w/ the hitch, if so use it too.

Been there, done that. After raining every day for the past two months, my propery is too wet to get my 2wd Ranger or Club Wagon back there. Heck, the 8N is sitting stuck as we speak, I'm on my way out now to take care of that problem.

Only a 2" ball (3/4" hole) will fit on the front bumper of the 8N. The 2N is currently not running.

I've temporarily solved the problem until I need to move the trailer again-- I put the trailer over the 2" ball on the drawbar, and wrapped chain around and around the trailer tongue and the drawbar. I was slow going, but I got it where I wanted it. Oh, I forgot to add that all of the building materials that were left over from the house were piled on the trailer too! It was a heavy load, but it got there!
