The drive shaft telescopes so you can remove it, but it doesn't shorten by much -- maybe half an inch. It's just barely enough to get it in and out. If the balls have come out, I think you're best off taking the shaft off, reassembling it and putting it back together as a unit. At one end there are three bolts, take those three bolts out. Loosen the hose clamp that holds the flexible coupling dust cover so the two ends can slide freely. Compress the shaft and pull it off. If the balls are still in there hold a towel to catch them as they come out.
I found if I packed the balls with grease it acted like glue to hold them in place and the reassembly was really easy. Like under a minute.
Some owners have reported that the ends of the driveshaft get worn and the balls slip. In that case the driveshaft needs to be replaced, although 3RRL had a long thread about replacing the balls with dowels to accommodate wear.

Thanks i got it fixed , new balls in the front , and takeing the shaft out was not to bad , just getting it back in was a little tricky, only thing i see ware on is the tip of the front part of the drive shaft, but it seams to do all the pushing of snow you could ask it to do , Thank For the Help Frank From Erie Pa
