Driveway Alarms for Rural Property

Message: Have rural farm areas being victim of thefts/burglaries. Looking for a battery operated driveway alarm type system that only senses metal objects (such as vehicles...so animals might not activate it) and notifications are via cellular technology such as text messages. Interested if anyone has heard of/or seen such technology? Thanks.

Hmmmm.

VS101 - SVAT Wireless Driveway Alert says that you can place the sensors 300 feet from the alarm unit. Runs about a hundred bucks.

Dakota Alert BS-KIT MURS Long Range Alert System Driveway Alarm has a 2 mile range and runs about $170. It operates off batteries, but you can probably do something like put a solar power unit on it. ****, now I'm considering getting one.
