I have 76 acres and my house in in the back part of the property. The property is way back in the woods and I have no neighbors. I routinely hear people riding quads on the front part of my property or I see vehicle tracks in the dirt out there. This is where the one and only road comes onto the fram. i can not see that side of the farm from my house.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some sort of driveway chime or camera. It is quite a distance from my house to the access road entryway in question. So, whatever the device is, it would almost have to be wireless.. Any suggestions?

Dakota Alert MURS system. You can't go wrong. I've used it for years. When you order the MURS, if you don't order from Dakota Alert send it back to them and they will modify it so you can hook up your own 12v battery and small solar panel.

I've been using Miltronics sensors and receivers for over 10 years. I have a receiver in my golf cart which triggers a rotating beacon, a receiver in the house and one in my barn. They are 12v receivers and 9v transmitters. Receivers have a relay plug that can switch other devices (I even have an air driven locomotive bell outside run by a 12v air valve).

I also have an 8 camera HD security system. Two of the cameras are connected to 1000' CAT6 cable. At this distance, they tell you to up the power supply voltage to 15v. No big deal. The main DVR plugs into my router and I also have a cable to an alternate input on my HDTV.

I have one of these:

Mighty Mule Driveway Alarm -Will alert you to Visitors

It is erratic. My wheelbarrow may set it off, then a car doesn't. On cars it works about 50-75% of the time, installed at the edge of the driveway according to instructions. I may try burying it in the center instead of at the edge.

:thumbsup::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I saw the gate and said that is nice, too nice for my place, but what about this RR stuff that is being mentioned? I don't see no RR equipment....

Then you got around the curve, or should I say you were coming around the mountain, and there was the signal. :thumbsup::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Very cool.

I had a Murs with wireless infared sensor. Worked ok for a while then became irractic in it's alarms, replaced transmitter once under warranty. It failed too. Currently looking to go hard wired with magnetic probe. Looking at a Mier DA500, it allows control of lights, dvrs for cameras, etc. Anybody had any experience with this brand??
