Thanks for your assistance. I had a pro price the job of removing 6" of dirt and what had once been gravel, replace with 4" 1 1/2 river base with fines and top with 3/4" of same material rolled in. He came in at $5,300. For a man in business I think it was a fair price. The boss and I decided we couldn't go it so I unlimbered the little Kubota 2660 and 40 hrs on the tractor later had it done for under $2k including the rental of a 48" vibrating roller. I removed two transfer trucks, at least, worth of material and replaced with the new. With the little FEL it was kinda like emptying Lake Tahoe with a tablespoon, but it got it done. It has been so dry here that I was able to beat the rain. Oh, another thing. the Ratchet Rake proved to be excellent at this task. It made it a lot easier, both time and accuracy wise, to grade out than using the box scrapper. The two together were very good once I got my head wrapped around it.
All the time I was doing this I was thinking, as you would expect that, "I need a bigger tractor".
That said, yesterday, I had it over at my daughters place re-doing here walkway around the house. It took a 10 wheeler full of 1/2 washed rock. I was able to get the BX in and around some really tight spots with FEL, Scrapper and RR without destroying the arbor, house, garden shed or greenhouse. Missed the propane tank too! Net/net, the BX is a small tractor, but with a lot of heart. My only problem now is getting it back from her.
