I'm getting too old to wrestle heavy items into my utility trailer... especially since I went with heavy ply tires and raised the deck almost 2 inches.

A drop deck trailer like a JLG 248 or an Air-tow RS8-35 sure seem like the answer to move milling machines and other heavy equipment.

Keep searching online and only find new...

Anyone have or use a drop deck trailer?

AIR-TOW TRAILERS

Keep checking for a used one to turn up and so far slim pickings.

That would make it much easier to load, things seem to be heavier now then when I was younger.

I looked for a used one of that style before I bought my tilt bed, couldn't find one but I would surely like to have one over the tilt bed. So much easier and safer to load.

One of the nice features is you can safely load away from the tow vehicle... no hitch required.

The 400 to 700 pound operating room tables and such are just getting too unwieldy to load... don't know how I've managed it alone all these years.

They are heavy and only about an inch of clearance between the floor and base.

Yesterday, I was moving an anesthesia machine and a castor snapped trying to get it up a trailer ramp.

I'm also thinking the 4.5' x 8.5' would nicely handle a pallet of concrete or blocks.

Every time I find a used one it always seems to be 1000 miles away.

The single axle with brakes has a 3500# payload... with 5200# GVW

I know many don't care for single axle... I've found they are much easier on tires and very maneuverable.

The only down side of those drop decks is the initial cost !!! But sure are easier and safer to load
