Dropped Plastic Gas Nozzle into the Tank - Suggestions?

So I decided to look at the MMM itself - found the issue - apparently the last bump I hit that really shook the unit, cause the MMM to jog back into a position where it got hit by the tractor and it bent the shell enough to stop the blade. It is close but I never had an issue before. So I took the mower deck off and then I banged on the inside of the shell until the blade would clear. hooked it back up and tried it out - works ok, but now I have the blade on the right side occasionally impacting the shell when the unit leans to the right So I gotta take the MMM off again and bang it a bit more - or buy another used deck:(

Hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news...but my experience with various mowers is that when you bend it enough to tweak a spindle, no matter what you try, that deck will never be the same...Burning up belts, blade issues, cut quality, bearing issues...all potentially possible "after" repair results..of course I havent seen where it got tweaked, If you just punched a big dent in the shell which is contacting the blade, you should be fine after punching the dent out....

Hello Dave, yeah after consulting with my local dealer's service shop, I think i backed over a cut stump that was not very visible to me and it bent my shell. I am gonna look underneath on Saturday morning and then see where it is making contact, and bang it out a bit more. I am also gonna make sure the spindle is not bent by doing a visual check with the deck off of the unit by measuring where the spindles are in relation to each other - the two on the outside should be in the same location - not one being forward or backward of the other one. In this case the right one should not be out of place.

update, well after two Saturdays of banging with the sledge hammer, my deck is working fine again! I tried a drain camera in the tank but very limited progress. I will either drain the tank or just wait until I use up more fuel to get a better look, so I can see where that nozzle is located and then extract it.

I know this is an old thread, but getting a cap out of your tank is easy, just drain the tank get the right tool to grab it an out it goes.A 12 dollar product on amazon did the trick.
