So I decided to look at the MMM itself - found the issue - apparently the last bump I hit that really shook the unit, cause the MMM to jog back into a position where it got hit by the tractor and it bent the shell enough to stop the blade. It is close but I never had an issue before. So I took the mower deck off and then I banged on the inside of the shell until the blade would clear. hooked it back up and tried it out - works ok, but now I have the blade on the right side occasionally impacting the shell when the unit leans to the right So I gotta take the MMM off again and bang it a bit more - or buy another used deck![]()
Hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news...but my experience with various mowers is that when you bend it enough to tweak a spindle, no matter what you try, that deck will never be the same...Burning up belts, blade issues, cut quality, bearing issues...all potentially possible "after" repair results..of course I havent seen where it got tweaked, If you just punched a big dent in the shell which is contacting the blade, you should be fine after punching the dent out....
