Slight pressure upwards on my boom is causing my boom to drop. It is like a dead spot. Once I am past that it is fine. Could it be a dirty valve. I have no hydralic experience but you never know, it could be an easy fix I could do myself hopefully.

You might inspect the load check valves.

There should be a spring and a poppet valve.

Check for broken spring and or debris.
