2000 Power Trac 422
One of the weaknesses of the Power Trac 422/425 is not being able to lower one side of an attachment. Has anyone developed anything that will allow this. I was thinking of an attachment quick attach plate connected to a second tractor end quick attach plate. Put some slots in one of the plates and have some bolts on the other that allow some degrees of rotation. I don't know how much is needed. Any thoughts on this or pictures will be much appreciated.

Bob, I just had an idea. Connect the two plates with a pipe within a pipe. Make then fairly large, almost as big as can be welded to the plates. You then cut grooves in the outer pipe part way around the pipe on each side. Then put bolts through these grooves into threaded holes in the inner pipe. Keep these pipes down to a few inches in length. Loosen the bolts to adjust the tilt and then tighten then. You should probably put at least two grooves and bolts and could do more.

What do you think, Bob

Well, other than the fact that I am answering my own questions it sounds pretty good. But, I bet others will have even better ideas.

Bob. Tell us what you would be doing with this capability. Knowing what you want to do with a design always helps with the invention.

I had posted some thing similar a while back to rotate the log splitter from top cut to side cut and bottom cut. 3/8 to 5/8 plate would work, either bolt down, or use your quick-attach setup to rotate the outside plate.

Where's Charlie???? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

He was in a discussion about making a thingy to rotate attachments. It would go between the quick attach of the tractor and the implement and be hydraulically operated. It would locate the implement away from the tractor a bit more, so that would lessen the lift capacity a tad. But it could be usefull for something like a tree shear, box blade, etc...

Charlie was busy with a family gathering of some magnitude, which included partial barn demolition extensive turf work and paver construction.

Steve and myself were working on a motorized walk along topdresser since June. I will be testing the machine this coming

Oh, yeah. I forgot. I wonder if he whipped that pasture into shape?

Good to hear from you, Hans. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ah Hah,

I was wondering about this as I was using the 60" rake this weekend. I reversed the tines so I could rake going forward. I can control depth and angle of the rake much better, not to mention being able to steer better w/o having to twist in the seat to keep looking behind. The only downside, which is really a non-issue, is the loss of float with the reversed tines. However, even with the tines in OEM position, I never used float, since the tines did not engage the ground with enough pressure to effectively rake.

With some irregularities of the ground contour, it would be great to be able to hydraulically adjust the side-to-side tilt of the rake to better conform to a given contour. The PTO circuit for locking the attachment plate is available, and we just need some of this Forum's hydraulic and mechanical expertise to whip something up. Perhaps there is some help available with Peqeuajim's prop /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe we should obtain from a junk yard a rear wheel hub from a mini van and weld one side to a female quick attach plate and the other side to a male plate. Then rig up a small but sturdy hydraulic cylinder to give us 30 degrees tilt in either direction. And use the Aux PTO to supply the pressure like we do with the power angle snow plow. Somebody should do that. Yeah. Somebody??? Is sombody there????? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
