Drove the new Ford F150 2.7 Ecoboost

I had a previous thread where I was looking hard for a reg cab 94-96 F150 300 6 with a 5spd. Found one I am determined to get, just waiting for the fellow to change his mind. They are great trucks, folks do not want to sell them if they are in good shape and running well.

Old thread but a friend of mine at the Ford dealership tells me they just replaced their ninth 2.7 Ecobust engine. Ford doesn't know the problem but most of the ones that blow lock the crank and don't make their first oil change.

Also tells me these tend to burn a quart of oil in 1000 miles or less.

I have a '15 XLT Supercrew 4x4 with the 2.7EB, approaching 35K miles, EASILY the best truck I've ever had! Consistently gets 21-23mpg in mixed driving, and is a rocket when the boost comes on. Quicker 0-60 than any 1/2ton V8. Amazing little engine. truck & engine have been trouble free so far. Will certainly get another one when my lease expires next fall. Drove a Honda Ridgeline before my F150, and really liked it, but this truck is in another league. My first Ford since 2002, and I'm really impressed.
