Drum mower replacing tensioner spring

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the replacement of a large tension spring on a drum mower, can get the new spring in but getting the head stock forward is the main problem, do I pull it with another tractor?

A come-along or winch might be better

Not familiar with exactly what you’re dealing with, but I’ve used smaller ratchet straps to try to pull things like that a bit.
