Dry Cut Saw vs. Abrasive Blade Chop Saw

Thanks for this thread, I’m about to set my shop up and I’m def going to look into one of these. Can the experts recommend a saw for general farm/ranch and small fab jobs?

The bed was level, best I could figure out was the motor has a little twist to it. I壇 get the material in there and put a level on it to make sure it was true. Make the cut and low and behold it was at an angle

If the material is level, make sure that the blade is plumb, then it should cut straight. At least, if the hinge axis is parallel with the work!

Yes indeed. Like most things, these saws are not necessarily tuned right out of the box. I have actually had two of them, the first one was promptly replaced under warranty by Northern Tool (three year warranty BTW) and they sent me the new saw with the RMA so I didn't have much down time. The first saw was true and cut well right out of the box but the second one was off a bit and required some adjustment to true the saw blade to the fence - very easy to do. I always check my new tools for alignment, where it can be an issue - even with the best tools, things change during shipping.
