TheGoose; It's basically just a rubbing alcohol mix, some of them smell like they're mixed with kero.

I never heard of drygas before this thread.

If you've always lived in the south, you can be excused for not being aware of drygas. In cold climates, gas line freeze-ups from condensation in the gas have historically been an all too real possibility, with the potential for leaving you stranded in the cold with a vehicle that won't run. I think that sometimes when it happened, you could add the drygas to the tank, wait a bit and get going. I've preferred to be on the safe side and add a bottle now and then to keep from being caught short. Sort of like making sure the coolant is up to snuff and the battery is in good shape. All part of dealing with cold weather.

If your pump gas is 10% ethanol and costs $2.50 a gallon... every time you put 10 gallons in your tank, you are putting 1 gallon of alcohol in at a cost of $2.50... Gas Dry is around $2.50 for 10 ounces... you really don't need to add any more to your fuel... If you want you can buy a bottle of 91% rubbing alcohol for about $1 a quart and add that to non ethanol fuel...
Adding alcohol to ice will not melt it, it combines with any water and prevents it's freezing. The original engine antifreeze was alcohol and had to be replaced throughout the winter because it evaporated from heat... another BIG improvement through chemistry = modern antifreezes... KennyV.
