Earlier I posted a rant about the large gulf between dealer pricing in my area and my local guy being unwilling to budge. I got my tractor from another town and I am happy with the device. I decided to man-up and sit down with the local guy and inform him of my decision and reasoning. I also called Kioti and asked them why the large price difference that pits dealer/dealer/customer against each other sometimes to the loss of all. Kioti manned up and admitted they "may" have offered a new dealer some screaming invoice pricing to lure in a new dealer and the dealer that has been with them for years would be unable to sell/compete at a profit. Putting a tried and true dealer in the position of selling at or below cost is not a good practice and I now have no doubt the local guy was put in that spot and I don't blame him for balking. I told Kioti they should adopt a more transparent practice between dealers to maintain dealer and consumer confidence. Again, I am happy with the product, but not the purchase which raised my and my local dealers hackles at each other needlessly. I got a good tractor, and I am confident either dealer will/would fairly assist me with my future needs, there was no dealer bad guy here so I wanted to set the record straight. I sounded off without all the facts and even though I did not name names and will not do so now, I know the dealer will read this and know his anonymous reputation should be and is unsullied. I hope Kioti straightens up so dealers can compete fairly and local dealers don't loss faith in the company they represent. I will buy attachemnts as needed from the local guy and will give him my retail work should there be a future need.

This follows along the lines of Auto Insurance, where your insurance guy won't/can't give you a lower price, but his competitor will because you are a new customer. Go back to the original guy a year later and you will now be a new customer so he can give you a lower price. Of course, both of them will raise your price if you stay a second year.
Same is true here in the east with heating oil prices each and every oil company has a "new customer" price and an "old customer" price. The new being lower than the old of course. Only way to stay on the low price side is to switch suppliers each and every year.
What is the logic of screwing your old customer who has been buying from you in favor of a new guy who has never bought from you???
You can actually call any company and ask them what the new customer price is and then ask them what the old customer price is and they will tell you over the phone. No shame--just business.

Sounds like Kioti is getting desperate for new dealers!
I guess I'm glad I am no longer on that boat. If I was I would be rocking the boat.
Imagine there will be issues with existing dealer when they find this out.
