I run double blades on my lawn mower when the grass is really growing fast in the early spring to prevent stragglers.
Doubles on a rotary cutter would depend on the design of the stump jumper. If the stump jumper is a full heavy disc, it might be as simple as drilling 2 more holes to add the additional blades, I have seen these on several heavy duty cutters. On the other hand, If the stump jumper is heavier where the current blades attach and light where the new ones would attach, it isn't going to work.
We have a 7' Sidewinder that has a thick solid stump jumper, and a 10' Woods that has the stump jumpers U bolted to the bar that attaches the blades.
