Being frustrated with my top n tilt arrangement I decided to order the pilot valves from the hydraulic store.

They indicated I only needed one valve per cylinder. My question is how do you plumb these things in?

The reason I am doing this is because both cylinder start leaking down because of the crappy valves on my Kubota.

Does it make a difference on which end of the double acting cylinder these pilot valves are installed?

Thanks in advance.:(

Can you provide a link to what exactly you ordered? The DPOCV's I'm familiar with have four ports, two in and two out.

KennyD, I ordered 2 of Part # 7013002 from the Hydraulics store.Looks like they are made by Trausch dynamics. It looks like there are 4 connections.C1-C2 and V1-V2.

2 ports on top and a port on each end. I got these hoping it would stop or slow down the hydraulic cylinders from settling . I don't believe the cylinders are at fault.

I took Mountainviews advice and disconnected the hydraulic cylinders from the rear remote valves and they seemed to hold just fine. He also thought that the remote valves made by Kubota could be faulty.

By the way ,I installed flow restricters in both cylinders because they were moving too fast. They're good now.

Thanks for responding.

What cylinders do you have? What ports are on the cylinders?

Brian, they came from surplus center. Don't know the actual manufacturer of the cylinders. They were o-ring type outlets which I converted to 3/8" npt. I also put flow restricters in as per your suggestion. The movement is great now. Thanks.

That makes perfect sense Kenny. So I assume that if I want the cylinder to extend I would come from the rear remote to V1 and then C1 to the base end of the cylinder and V2 to C2 to retract?
Correct, and if the movement is not as expected just swap the hoses to change direction.

Following up on this thread. I finally got my pilot check valves installed and they work great.

The hard part was figuring out where to mount them, I decided to mount them on the cylinders using muffler clamps. The top cylinder was pretty easy because it is longer and I had more room to work.

The side cylinder was pretty tight but I finally got it to fit. My son used it yesterday to grade his gravel drive and there was absolutely no leak down. There were a few minor leaks at some fittings so I will be taking them off today to do some final tightening.

All in all I am very happy with the project and I wanted to thank you guys for your suggestions. I now know what a POCV is.:) I would send pics but too dumb for that. Thanks again!
