Again, this is a Chinese tractor forum Rob. My KM454 cost $10,500 delivered (in 2004), and came with two sets of remotes (4 QDs/2 valves) at no extra charge.

I guess not all of them come with remotes as mentioned below...

Hello All:

What is the main advantage of having a tractor with dual remotes? What are the draw-backs( if any)?

Thanks

Gettincold
I think zzvyb6 described the advantages.
Well dual remotes can run 2 cylinders. That means up/down, left/right, clockwise/counter-clockwise or any combinations there-in. Motors, tongue swing, header raise, log split, raise jack, etc. If you have decent pump capacity, you can have quite a bit of fun.

You have the ability to run hydraulic equipment from them. If you need (want) them to run hydraulic equipment you have or might get, there are no drawbacks to having them. A good start is a hydraulic top link or even side links. Just depends how and what you use your tractor for, and what implements you have.

Hey RobJ,
I left out the word .. Live. As in live rear remotes.

The oldest Jinma 200 series I have had in the shop I think was a 2003 and it had one quick disconnect.

Hi Rob,
I don't want to get in the middle of an interesting exchange:) , but I just installed a single acting valve for Loretta's single acting dump trailer. Her Jinma came with one set of remotes for double acting cylinders. When we plugged the dump trailer into it, we raised it but couldn't get it to come down. So I added a Prince single acting valve specifically for that. She has other remotes for other hydraulics though. You can read about them in her thread here My New Jinma

Not a problem, I'm trying to keep it fun. But it sounds like you had to make some changes to make the single work useful. If I understand correctly I would guess on a dump trailer you would expect some gravity to help it come down. I'll have to check out the new thread. They are always interesting.

Greg I would hope that he would pay attention to every answer that he got!:D Not referring to Rob (or ANY other member of this FORUM) but it wouldn't be the first time that the village "idiot" got the right answer- Because he is looking at the problem from a different perspective and sometimes being two steps away from the problem helps. -Ed

As do I Red, but this is getting entirely too complicated. You too would do well to re-read the only post that the OP has thus far contributed:

All I really ever wanted to know was whether the OP was using the word "dual" in the sense of one set of remotes or two. I'm still waiting to find out.

Given the ambiguity of the question, the most germane responses thus far - have come from Ronald.
