Dual wheels ZTR

Has anyone out there put dual rear wheels on a ZTR for added stability on slopes?

Welcome to TBN,PACKITUP. I pose a couple of questions, 1st, what mower do you have, is it commercil grade? You see a lot of the BIG box stores sell ZTM's which are good mowers, but. . . the differentials are a stamped sheet metal and in my opinion if you added duals you'de be replacing the diff's shortly because of the torque when turning. 2nd, is the deck wide enough to cover the added wheels? and Last but most important, How steep a slope? Heres a pic of my Skag Tigercat, i've mowed slopes to about 40 degrees with it but i mow up and down not slideways. . . John

It is a John Deere Ztrack 425 and I had planned on putting the tires on only for mowing the ditch and not leaving them on for the rest of the yard.

Yea, gotta admit ditches are a pain in the @#$%!!. This ditch must be a big long ditch to justify that amount of work, just my opinion though. I mow about 30 acres a week plus 2 added off site and sometimes a 3rd, each lawn of about 2.5 acres each. I just wouldn't have the extra time. On one lawn i could use and benifit from duals but i just dont have the added time with my job and 2 houses to take care of .. . John :thumbsup:

John Deere offered a dual wheel option on there front mount mowers but they are a VERY expensive lawn mower for home owner use. You can even get a cab on it with air conditioning!

Never mind I just did it on my own and it works great.
